I have been surprised at the number of people who have come here for help to deal with some sort of trauma. It doesn’t have to be extreme like the death of a loved one. Or coming back from a foreign war to get help with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Sometimes it’s much more subtle. But these traumas can affect you on deep levels. Can hypnotherapy work for trauma? Yes. The things that may be bothering you will not bother you or affect you as much as they have bothered you in the past. And you will find some peace.
Use Hypnotherapy To Control Your Own Mind
One of the problems we all face when we have to deal with some sort of trauma is we tend to think about the event way too much. We ruminate on it and we can think about it incessantly. And unfortunately, that is probably the worst strategy you can use to get over the trauma. By going over the traumatic event in your mind over and over and over again, you are just re-living it. You are experiencing it all again in your mind.
When you learn to use hypnosis, you will learn how to control your own mind. So instead of reliving the event and thinking about it and ruminating on it, you will be able to focus your mind on more positive things. And the trauma won’t bother you so much. And you can be at peace.
Focus Your Mind On All The Positives In Your Life
I know it sounds simple in one way – “Just don’t think about it!”. But in another way, that can be difficult. Sometimes the more you try to NOT think about something, the more you will think about it. They call that the Law of Reversed Effect.
Even if you are dealing with post traumatic stress disorder and the trauma was so shocking and hurt so deeply, you can take back control of your mind so you won’t focus your attention on the pain. When I help someone with PTSD, the last thing I want to do is to talk about the event. I don’t want them to re-live it.
It’s so easy to get wrapped up in all the negativity and the pain and all the things going wrong. When I was going through some difficult times in my life, I was living in what I called the Pit of Misery. Everything was horrible. Nothing was good. For a long time, I was only thinking about the events and situations that had gone wrong. I finally said to myself I can’t live like this anymore. I used hypnosis and hypnotherapy to control my mind so I was not wrapped up in the trauma and pain.
Will hypnotherapy work for trauma for you? Yes. You will be able to take back control of your mind and find peace. If you want to learn more, feel free to contact me and I’d be happy to help you.
