A question I often get asked is, “Can children be hypnotized?” The answer is yes – absolutely, children can be hypnotized. They should be at least age 6 or so – they need the maturity to focus and listen. Hypnosis for children can be very rewarding. Children attain some of the greatest successes because they have not had the years of contamination, influences and conditioning that adults have had. Children are much more of a blank slate. And children tend to be more receptive – they can be great students of hypnosis – as long as they feel comfortable with the hypnotist.
Hypnosis has shown to be very effective with children in cases of enuresis (bed-wetting), ADHD, stuttering, fears, schoolwork, and improving self-esteem and self-confidence.
Hypnosis For Children Is Safe, Natural and Effective
When you learn that the hypnotic trance is the most natural state of being there is, you realize that getting hypnotized is a safe and natural way to return to your true, natural self. It’s safe, comfortable, and in many ways children are much better at entering into the trance – and will heal themselves more efficiently and more rapidly.
Utilize Your Child’s Vivid Imagination
Children tend to have stronger and more vivid imaginations. The better your imagination, the better hypnotic trance you will enter. Imagination is the language of the subconscious mind.
While children have not been contaminated by the thoughts, opinions, and beliefs of the world, the one drawback with children is they don’t yet have much life experience to draw upon because of their young age. These false beliefs had not been ingrained that deeply – so it’s easier to correct the lies, fears, doubts, and insecurities.
Adults on the other hand have been contaminated their whole life and a lot of these false believes bad habits etc. are ingrained very deeply. But the older they are, the more life experience may have.
Hypnosis For Children Improves Confidence And Self-Esteem
A child’s ability to control emotions, handle frustrations, and get along with others is a better predictor of success than their IQ. Respond with hope and resiliency, not anger and hopelessness.
The average kindergarten child laughs about 400 times per day. The average adult laughs about 15 times per day. What happens in that time span?
Children learn through suggestion and imitation – they pick up on everything – not just words. Some newborn animals get ‘imprinted’ by their mothers. The first animal they see gets ‘imprinted’ on them to be their mother.
The first communication children learn is through body language and through reading faces. They may not understand the words, but they know what people are trying to say. Humans have 44 muscles in the face that can create over 7,000 different facial expressions. That is the first way children learn – through body language and facial expressions.
Children may get embarrassed very easily – especially if they stutter or wet the bed – making their stress levels increase even more. Which may make the problems worse. With hypnosis for children, they will become more relaxed and more self-confident – and not let those things bother them anymore. As their confidence grows, they are able to relax much more deeply. And these issues or problems will just drift away, like smoke drifting on the wind.
